KSEB Kerala CHAMPIONS at 2nd Wilred Leisure All India Volleyball Tournament
organized by Wilred Leisure Sports Club, Curtorim at St. Alex Church Grounds Curtorim

Watched and cheered by a voiceforous and sporting crowd of around 3500 volleyball fans both teams started well in the first set with 10 all. Then it was the best attacker of the tournament Najib of Kseb with some brilliant spiking took the game away form ICF and the first set folded at 25-12

ICF, right through the tournament, were brilliant in attack and as well in defense. They played in unison to defeat favorites Cochin Port Trust in the Semifinals but as a disappointment for the fans could not put their act together in the finals and were a totally disjointed lot. Prabakaran of ICF a junior India International who was latter adjudged the most valuable player of the tournament was totally off color and could not produce the performance as he did in the earlier matches

The final score was 25-12,25-14,25-20 in the favor of KSEB

Best Lifter of the tournament – Jayalal KJ of KSEB (Brother of India Setter Kapil Dev)
Best Attacker – Nazib of KSEB
All round Player – Prabakaran of ICF

Mr. Digamber Kamat, chief Minister of Goa was the chief guest. Mr. Anthony Rebelo – Former India Footballer from Curtorim, Mr. Bruno Lourenco, social worker, businessmen and an ardent sports lover, Mr. John D’Silva former state & Customs Volleyball player from curtorim were all felicitated at the hands of the Chief Minister in the presence of Mr. Vijay Sardessai GPCC Gen Secretary, Mr. Prabhudessai, SAG Executive Director, Mr Reginaldo Lourenco MLA Curtorim and host of other dignitaries. Dionisio Sardinha, Gen Secretary of Wilred Leisure Sports club proposed the vote of thanks and especially thanked Mr. Reginaldo Lourenco for his all round support for the conducting of the tournament.
